Made for Entrance way to the Play, Aurora Calling, written by Catherine Ryan, Produced by Tiffany Raae.

These two works reflect my friendship with Inupiat Grandfather Maynard Eaken and the gratitude I feel for this Elder and his generosity of heart and spirit.  In contrast to the vast peaceful space of In the North I heard your song, In the South I seek you is closer to my home; where stories and teachings from many ancestral histories mingle with the land and lore; and where concerns fester over the breaking relationship between the Earth and Humanity.  Somehow the poles magnetism, so vivid in aurora colours, is symbolic of the hope that the relationship can hold.  Just so the holding happening between the two women whose relationship is central to this play, so beautifully named Aurora Calling; as if the Auroras were calling us home.
